Hey Pain Cavers,
Today we’ve got a few fixes for the kind of missing internal rotation you might find in swimmers that are negotiating things like:
Sharks
Rotor Wash
50 ft. Seas
Capsized Boats
Jumping out of a Helicopter…
Of course missing IR is missing IR. It’s just that when you make your living as a rescue swimmer, your shoulder’s Totem Animals better be Honey Badgers…
KStar

Great work again K-Star, loving the blog bro! I've got a question for you or anyone else out there with the knowledge. A part from these very useful mobs, what else can I do to retrain the posture my shoulder which is permanently stuck in the d-bag position? My right shoulder/scap complex is internally rotated, protracted and my scap is winging slightly with my lat in slight constant contraction (trying to stabilise my shitty scap) and therefore has decreased mechanical advantage in basically all lifting planes, resulting in decrease strength and development on one side. I developed this through 9hours a day of mouse use followed by 3 hours a night of studying. Any ideas from anyone would be awesome so I can be de d-bagged and back into the weights. Cheers
K-STARR. Thanks so much for the MWOD shout out. Had a blast at the cert and learned a lot. Keep doing what you're doing.
Wes
OUCH!!!!
my shoulder internal rotation shiz is terrible – just what the Dr ordered.
Thanks
KStar, I second Wes, thanks for the shout out brother. A much needed MWOD from all of us USCG swimmers out there.
And more exciting was the cert in Atlanta. Thanks for passing on all your knowledge that works so well and getting rid of the fallacies of stretching that are out there while making it very motivating and entertaining at the same time. Hopefully we'll meet again and this time with less pitting edema
Just let us know when you're stuck on a capsized boat with 50ft seas in shark infested water and hurricane winds! Glad the shoulder IR is one less thing to worry about.
Cory
Thanks for looking out for the swimmers KStar!
To whom it may concern.
I am very interested in joining your forces, but not sure how i can go about applying. Im currently trying to locate opportunities regarding sea rescue. I am a South African Citizen, with a South African and British pass port. I have a C1D1 visa and a B1B2 visa valid for 10 years, a medical evaluation and a police clearance Im currently working for Norwegian cruise lines based in Miami , 2 years in May next year, as a scuba diving instructor. Could you help with some info on how i can go about applying to join the US coast guard.

what band are you using there, i want to buy one
Chris– Go to the Rogue link on the right do a search for mobility pack. Click on the first one and the different options will come up. Go with the combo pack, add 2 lacrosse balls and you’ll have what you need. The 2 bands, a single lacrosse ball and 2 to tape together. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to add a rumble roller to the pack.
