Hey Mobility Freaks,
Today we are going to work on the relationship between your shoulder and your thoracic spine. Mobilize the high ribs for overhead work, and the lower ribs along the scapula for improved internal rotation and extension.
Four quadrants: 4 min high/low each side.
Test/Retest: Overhead arm position/ hand behind back
Suffer Babies.

Thanks! Great vid and very pertinent to for my shoulder issues. Oh… and, I like the pink baby-stroller…

Where exactly is that ball being placed, its a bit unclear in the video.
Also could you use two balls at once on each side and same quadrant?
Hang in there K-Star, its okay if you go a little insane. Keep it up, we love the Mobility project at CEF its helped our memebers (and owners) to do amazing things!
Suffer it was, but much better after.
Alan the ball placement would change depending on which ribs you are needing to target.
Was guided to your site from MDA and I love what I’ve seen so far. I did have a question regarding this particular post. Have you ever heard of the company Trigger Point Performance Therapy? It’s strictly self-myofascial release products. The tools are made to mimic the human thumb, therefore when pressure is applied to the tool it mimics deep tissue massage; breaking up scar tissue and adhesions (exactly what you showed here). But I was just curious if you were familiar with the company and it’s products. FANTASTIC stuff that’s literally taken myself and many of my clients from the injured list back into competitive sports/training.

Thanks for this blog/site. I love what you’re sharing…I’ll certainly be implementing the info I gather here.
Yes, I love the rib mobs really seems to be my shaman’s blow. Oh yeah, and I think the dog stole your ball at the end of the video. His ribs must be tacked down too. I have the same problem with my dogs when I roll around on the floor during the MWOD. Attacking one arm with the lacrosse ball, the other is used to strongarm a pup from licking my face.
The dog stole the massage ball. Classic.
