Today’s mission deals with junky, old, poorly perfused tissue. It’s not uncommon for an athlete to walk in with a swollen joint that has long gone cold. Physio’s call this tissue “old and cold”. Tissues in this state don’t have a lot of good circulation and there are usually real sliding surface problems. The question is, what are you going to do about it? Poof, enter the compression band. Oh, you have an actively swollen joint or tissue? What’s your plan to move that fluid out of there? It had better involve compression or some motion that is going drive your lymphatic system. This episode is about compression. Two minutes five times a day should get you started.
