Hey Performance Freaks!

Outside magazine recently published it’s top 10 list of best fitness blogs and MWod made the cut!  It’s a pretty powerful statement that a brilliant Scott (Conditioning Research) and a guy with an Iphone and an obsession with performance (me) are on the same list as the NYT, and WSJ?  Crazy.

We are approaching the 1 million unique user mark on google analytics and you guys continue to blow my mind with your creative applications of the MWod. Now, if we could only convince North Korea to start taking its performance seriously….
To all the coaches, athletes, and tactical athletes that send us your success stories, thanks.

Here’s what they say about your MWod.

Good for: Daily motivation and injury prevention.

Written by: San Francisco CrossFit guru, Kelly Starrett, DPT.

Let’s get the cons out of the way first. Almost without fail, Starrett, a CrossFit guru, signs his posts as K-Star. And he addresses his readers as MWodies or Leopards, which can get tiresome if you’re not a die-hard fan. That’s it. Starrett posts an almost-daily strength training move, stretch, or drill—a workout of the day (WOD)—to address musculoskeletal weaknesses or deficiencies and always includes a video explanation. Starrett’s energy and passion for his subject come through in his goofy posts and video appearances, inspiring a cult-like following.

THE TOP 10 FITNESS BLOGS
The best sites for health advice and commentary, so you can get online and go outside

Here is the full list:

Within the last year, The New York Times, The New York Observer, and Wired all pondered whether Facebook and Twitter have killed blogging. Phooey. Health and fitness blogs are better than ever—and these 10 provide analysis and voice that status updates and 140 character tweets can’t touch. These are the fitness blogs we find ourselves checking every day.

Well deserved! Mobility WOD has been blowing my mind for six months. I’m bouncing back from killer WODs and preventing injuries that would normally sidetrack me. K-Star keep up the great work!

One other con: There’s no ‘Older’, ‘Newer’ links at the top/bottom of the posts so navigating can be a bit bothersome if you aren’t doing the very newest MWOD.

    The K-Star abides.

Morten, let me help you out. The higher the page number; the older the MWOD….

The MWOD leads by giving us the tools, showing the way to actively change/improve the situation, moving closer to the ideal that everyone is chasing.

Their “cons” are my pros! You can’t stop K-Star – you can only hope to contain him.

Congratulations! This might also be a great time to thank you everything you do by providing this site. After I rocked out of selection, my body was a mess. Thanks to you to your MWoD I was able to bounce back to training in only a month. The advice I received on your site contradicted what a lot of a physical therapists and doctors were telling me and I found the results from your site incredible. It’s obviously working for other people too. Keep it up!

Thanks for the shout out Kelly. I don’t deserve to be on that list.

Thank you, K-Star you Rock! we use the mob wod daily and it keeps us supple like leoperds

I think I speak for all the fellow leopard brethren when I say there are no cons about this website. We all obey the K-star, we don’t go in the pain cave, we don’t make the pain face. We know our business, we treat upstream/downsteam delaminating at all times for a minimal therapeutic dose of 2 minutes, each side. We also know how cool a wet cheese sandwich is…not cool bro!
