Mobility Dance-Freaks,
Here’s the deal. Sometimes 10 minutes of mobility work after working a brutally long day, with meetings that stretch into the early evening is really difficult to accomplish. Trust me, I know.
Sometimes, you’ve just got to get some work done and check the box. It doesn’t have to be Olympic Gymnast quality mobility work. You’ve just got to bury it into your life. Your mission today is to try to accumulate a tiny bit of hip stretching while seated in every chair you’re sitting in for longer than 5 min.
The mission of today’s Mwod is two fold. First, are you really aware of how much time you sitting in the the slow-hip-death position. And two, can you really aggregate some mobility time if you think about it.
Test: How awesome you feel at the end of the day.
Mob: You get 1 point for every time you stretch a hip for 1 min when you sit longer than 5 min. Max 2 points per sitting session.
Re-test: Kicking ass the next day
No Excuses. Really. Make Mobility Cool. Again.
See you tomorrow.
K-club-star

Kstar, you are the coolest! Great stuff this is. Loved the 2nd vid.
Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing!
Okay seriously……….. I love your knowledge, the way you explain and the time you give. Thank you!
Serious respect for your jaw-dropping, life-changing awesomeness from Munich, Germany. You are my personal healer.
Any suggestions for good chairs that help sort out my business while doing business?
I noticed Randy's new book on the table – anything useful inside
?
I've got a man-crush on K-star and I'm not afraid to admit it. And the mobility stuff is pretty good too!
Was getting a couple points in church this morning, watched the blog tonight and was like, "yeah, not only am I a mobile warrior but a proactive one at that
" 6 points so far today but it's not over yet…
Absolutely great work man, keep it up. Look forward to seeing you down in FL at some point for a mobility cert!
7 points. Not seated too much today… Active Sunday. Lots of extra mobility work before and after the 5 mile trail run… Good times.
2 points today and that was for the bus ride home from work.
Kelly – was wondering if you could also address in the future, common dysfunction/issues for those of us that stand or work on our feet all day. I don't have a slow chair death to look forward to, but I do stand up to 10 hours at a time without a break…and still have to deal with mobility issues.
Kelly- Enjoying the M WODs, and it is definitely put a whole new perspective on movement in sport.
One thing that I have been wondering is how a spine in lordosis can prevent a correct squat. I have been reading up on it and it appears that an anterior tilt of the pelvis prevents the activation of the glutes/posterior chain. Do I have this right? We have been focusing on opening up the front of the hip, but is there anything I can do to help tilt my pelvis more posteriorly. My bowl of water is empty!
Thanks, and keep up the outstanding work.
Great to meet you at the cert this past weekend!! Really eye opening and I am looking forward to taking it back to my athletes and really putting this stuff to work. Thanks for helping me along the path to be a better coach, for taking your time to share your knowlege, the hospitality and awesomeness!!
Would love to hear some tips on what to do to maintain mobility when you're stuck in a car a lot of the time! Especially anything that can be done while driving.
Thanks for keeping up this super informative blog.
7 points.
It was that 2 point max per sitting session that got me, some of my sitting sessions were several hours long and that cost me points. If I'd done it every 5 minutes while I was seated I'd have been well into double digits.
6 points for me, mainly in church, talk about stealth stretching
Great stuff Kelly. Much thanks for this resource.
Can't wait to try this at work today.
The Vegas bit was hilarious by the way. Love it!

Love this! I racked up 8 points while reviewing this mwod and looking at others. Already, this makes a huge difference. I was stretched after a 5k today, and the PT said I was the most flexible person he’d stretched all day. Woohoo! Thanks, Kelly!
4 points today so far due to the per sitting rule
awesome vids, awesome stretches. thank you good sir.
